****Hypoglcemia****

Hypoglycemia is a disorder of the Central Nervous system caused by a drop in the Blood Sugar, it occurs mostly in toy breeds, but can occur in other sizes as well, it can occur without warning: Sign of Hypoglcemia:.depression, weakness, being wobbly or jerky....head appears to tilt to left or right More severe signs are:....neck appears stiff or in a locked position, teeth clamped tightly, convulsion, seizures, if not treated quickly death will be the result

****Treatment****

The blood levels of glucose MUST be restored immediatly!! DO NOT HESITATE, don't wait and assume he/she will feel better later, HIS/HER LIFE IS AT STAKE!!!. If your puppy is conscious, rub some honey onto it's gums and tongue, do not put excessive amount into it mouth as this may cause your baby to aspirate, The puppy should improve within ten minutes, at this point give your baby (NUTRA-STAT), THIS CAN BE PURCHASED AT ANY PET SUPPLY STORE OR VET, ALWAYS KEEP THIS ON HAND, IT'S A REAL LIFE SAVER.

****PREVENTION****

HAVE FOOD AND WATER AVAILABLE 24 HOURS A DAY. kEEP YOUR BABY IN A CONFINED AREA, where he/she doesn't have to go far to reach it's bowl of food and water. Playpens are great for this purpose, have a blanket at one end and their wee-wee pad at the other. MAKE SURE YOUR BABY IS EATING AT LEAST THREE MEALS A DAY, don't assume that they will eat on their own, make sure that they do

****CAUSES****

..Going to a new home or separtion from litter mates. Stress,Like travel or flying ,missing a meal,Becomming Chilled, Overtired from playing . they are like children, if they don't eat, no playing...going over three or four hours without eating, don't keep them out to long...If your baby should do this, remember that he/she should outgrow this by six months of age.

Early Neurological Stimulation

All of my babies have been given the program that makes them "Super Puppies". This early stimulation is to give the puppy a superior advantage. This workout begins on the third day of their life and continues through the sixteeth day. The workout reguires holding one pup and stimulate it using five excercises, these excercises will produce neurological stimulation, none of which occur naturally during this early period of life. Experience shows that puppies who were exposed to the BIO SENSOR exercise has noted benefits:1 Improved cardiovasclar performance (Heart Rate)(Stronger Heartbeats), Stronger Adrenal Glands,More tolerance to stress,Greater resistance to disease. In the test of learning, stimulated pups were found to be more active than their non-stimulated littermates. Secondary effects also noted greater performance with problem solving using detours in a maze. The non-stimulated pups became upset, whined a great deal and made many errors. The stimulated littermates were less distrubed or upset by conditions, and were found to be more calm and made fewer errors and gave only occasional signal when stressed.

IMPERIAL SHIH TZU PUPPIES

It is believed that the small Shih Tzu,
6 to 7 pound size, was first introduced by the Chinese Empresses Dowager in the Imperial Palace of China. The larger sizes were rejected, often destroyed or sold in the underground market. The legend of the Imperial Shih Tzu is so mysterious, that the history is still unclear, and the controversy continues about them still. The smaller ones were kept under careful guard, slept on satin pillows, were only owned by by the elite and wealthy, they were sometimes given as the ultimate gift to diplomats when they visited the Imperial Palace. They were highly reverend and cherished. Because of all the mystery, they still command a higher price.

As a breeder, we have found that when people are asking for a Shih Tzu, they very seldom mean a "Standard" size, 9 to 16 pounds, that is described by the AKC. they want the little tiny ones, four to eight pounds, so breeders started using the term "Imperial" to communicate with customers. The small size of these little ones does not mean that they are UNHEALTHY, this lie or myth is being spread by those who are only in favor of one size Shih Tzu. One club, the NCICA is working to get the American Kennel Club to recognize them in their own class known as the Chinese Imperials. You can visit their site at www.ncica.com to futher their cause.

These little ones are easier to travel with, or carry in bags. You will find them everywhere, shopping, parks, where ever they can be carried. Because they require more work on the part of the breeder, being so tiny, they sometimes require extra supplements such as Nutri-cal, and be fed more often to keep their sugar up, that we keep our babies longer than the average eight weeks of age. They are raised in our homes, socialized with everyone, that they are full of personality. Sometimes they will not leave us until the fourth month, because these tiny little ones are rare, and still scarce,limited in quanity and come from wonderful bloodlines, (Joffin, Pratt and Odell, Voss) they command a higher price. Our babies are sold with limited AKC registrations. They have their vaccinations and current on wormings. Their colors range from white to black,brown to red, with everything in between. Please check out these exquisite little jems. Jane has been raising Imperials for the last ten years and has devoted her money and time to raise the best Imperial Shih Tzu in the South East. All her dogs comform to the AKC standards, the only difference is the size of her babies.
